American Blues Rock Guitarist - Walter Trout is the latest act to be announced for this years Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival 2018 in Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal, Ireland. The internationally acclaimed guitarist will be bringing his band to perform at the Festival Big Top in Ballyshannon on Saturday 2nd June 2018. The former Canned Heat and Bluesbreakers guitarist and ace sideman to the likes of John Lee Hooker, Big Mama Thornton, and Joe Tex, recently released his new album "We’re All In This Together".The album feaures a stellar cast of guests including John Mayall, Joe Bonamassa, Randy Bachman, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Warren Haynes, Sonny Landreth, Charlie Musselwite, Mike Zito, Robben Ford, Eric Gales, Edgar Winter, Joe Louis Walker, John Németh and his son Jon Trout.

Other acts announced to date include John Wilson's Taste, Wishbone Ash featuring Andy Powell, Eric Steckel Band (USA), Brian Downey's Alive & Dangerous (ex. Thin Lizzy), Pat McManus Band, Laundromat (Holland), Johnny Gallagher & Boxtie, Sinnerboy (UK), The Mississippi Sheiks (Ireland) with many more acts to be announced in the coming weeks.
Walter Trout plays earth shattering blues rock music, he was voted the sixth best guitarist ever in a BBC Radio listeners poll and gets rave reviews whenever he plays. Walter hasn’t come out of voluntary retirement nor has he been away ‘finding himself’. One of the world’s best blues guitarists.
Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival Committee will be announcing several other headline acts in the coming weeks and the Irish Festival of the Year (for attendances over 10,000 people) is set to become another great event with open-air Street Gigs, Workshops, the Rock Hospital Acoustic gig, Nightly Blues Rock Pub gigs and the legendary Big Top gigs on 1st, 2nd and 3rd June 2018.
