Rory Gallagher will be remembered 20 years after his sad passing in the town of his birth with thousands of the Late Great Rock 'n Blues star' followers converging on Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal, Ireland between 28th and 31st May 2015 from throughout the world. Gallagher is without doubt one of the greatest musicians ever from Ireland who to this day is remembered fondly everywhere for his energetic live performances. From his humble beginnings in Ballyshannon where he was born at the appropriately named Rock Hospital, Rory supported throughout his career by his brother and Manager - Donal, left a huge impression on the world of Rock Blues music. Its not surprising then that 20 years after his sad passing that his loyal fans both old and new will travel from over 30 Countries worldwide to celebrate his life and music in Ballyshannon for the 14th Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival.
32 acts will perform on 15 separate stages over 4 days in the Culturally celebrated town of his birth - Ballyshannon. Without doubt one of the best line-ups will perform with many of the finest guitarists, musicians, band mates and tribute artists will assemble to Remember Rory - 20 Years After. The winding streets of Ballyshannon will come alive to the sounds of acousic and electric guitars as Ballyshannon honours its most famous son.
"If Rory was around to witness the 4-day event he would be truly humbled with the effort that his loyal following from across the world make annually but in particular this year, the 20th Anniversary of his passing" said Festival Chairperson - Barry O'Neill.
